Professor of Inter-Disciplinary Applied Ethics | University of Leeds

Chris Megone is an accomplished scholar and professor of Inter-Disciplinary Applied Ethics, previously serving as the Director of Inter-Disciplinary Ethics Applied at the University of Leeds. He received a National Teaching Fellowship in 2006 and has taught a range of disciplines including medical ethics, business ethics, and engineering ethics. His research focuses on medical and business ethics, and he has also contributed to research-based consultancy in Professional Ethics. Notably, Chris gave evidence at the Leveson Inquiry into the “Ethics and Culture of the Media” in the UK and contributed to the production of “Real Integrity: Promoting Integrity in Organisations” for the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales.

Philip Jastrzebski

Senior Manager Corporate Investigations and Intelligence | Three

Philip has 34+ years of experience in law enforcement and corporate fraud. He leads internal investigations into fraud, bribery, and corruption at Three UK, part of CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd with mobile operations in 11 countries and employing over 4,800 people. Phil also manages Three’s secure and anonymous whistleblowing hotline providing a secure and anonymous platform for staff and contractors to raise concerns of significant regulatory breaches, failings in process, fraud, and other concerns whilst in the workplace and was instrumental in implementing the service and developing staff training.

Julia Arbery

Julia has more than 15 years of experience in ethics and compliance. Specifically, she assists multinational corporations with the development and implementation of effective ethics and compliance programmes across their global operations. Jonathan Armstrong

Jonathan is an experienced lawyer with Cordery in London with a concentration on compliance and technology. His practice includes advising multinational companies on matters involving risk, compliance and technology across Europe. He has handled legal matters in more than 60 countries involving bribery and corruption, corporate governance, ethics code implementation, reputation, internal investigations, marketing, branding and global privacy policies. Jonathan has been particularly active in advising multi-national corporations on their response to the UK Bribery Act 2010 and its inter-relationship with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Jonathan is one of three co-authors of the LexisNexis definitive work on technology risk, “Managing Risk: Technology and Communications”. He is a frequent broadcaster for the BBC and other channels.

In addition to being a lawyer, Jonathan is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has spoken at conferences in the U.S., Canada, China, Brazil, Singapore, Vietnam, the Middle East and across Europe. Jonathan qualified as a lawyer in the UK in 1991 and has focused on compliance and technology matters for more than 25 years.

The Whistleblowing Directive was due to be transposed into national law by 17 December 2021. Many member states have delayed. Whilst progress has been slow, UK employers with EU based operations cannot be complacent. Helen’s practice covers the full spectrum of employment law and human resources strategy with extensive experience in complex advisory and litigation projects. Helen has particular expertise of working with clients in the financial, tech and professional services sectors. Over recent years, Helen has guided many banks and solo regulated firms through the complexity of the employment issues related to the introduction of the senior managers & certification regime and on cross over employment and regulatory issues.

Helen’s focus is on strategic matters such as workplace discrimination of a sensitive nature, equal pay, team moves, boardroom disputes and employment cases involving financial services regulatory issues. She is also well versed in dealing with industrial relations issues.

She has worked with a number of organisations on the Implication of the General Data Protection Regulation for managing employee data. Jan-Patrick has particular expertise in criminal employment law/ HR compliance and, in this context, provides comprehensive support to companies in setting up and implementing HR compliance systems as well as in defending cases of internal corporate crimes.

A further focus of his work is the internal clarification and, where applicable, rectification of criminal legal violations with reference to employment law and social security law.
